Where is the current loan record?

Identify loan terms, balances, parties, collateral, and status. Note where each record lives and which source staff trust when values disagree.

  2. 02

    What history must come across?

List the payments, fees, escrow, investor activity, and servicing events needed to explain a balance or action. A current balance is not enough.

  3. 03

Can documents be matched to the right loan?

Check notes, statements, agreements, communications, and legal files. Flag uncertain matches for review.

  4. 04

    Which figures need reconciliation?

Compare sample loans, balances, investor interests, and totals against the source. Record discrepancies and name an owner for each.

  5. 05

Who signs off before the team switches systems?

Agree on supported loan types and workflows, who will review results, and when daily work can move. A parallel run can reveal gaps while the old system is still available.

These answers define the first migration scope and show what still needs a decision.
